Water Act Information

NSWIC has maintained that the foundation of the Basin Plan - the Commonwealth Water Act - is hopelessly damaged. It was meant to deliver a triple bottom line outcome where social, environmental and economic uses of water were considered equally. This was the pathway laid down by the National Water Initiative.

Instead, political reality dictated that the environment take precedence (see our Briefing Paper for further details).
